KCCM provides two types of training programmes to its students – Soft skills training (LSRW) and Corporate training. The training programmes caters to the holistic development of the students. The training is spread across all 6 semesters with various modules and units.

Soft skill and LSRW Skill Development

Soft skills are your innate attributes that determines how well you can work or interact with others. These skills make it easier to form relationships with people, create trust and dependability, both in our professional and personal lives. At KCCM, we encourage our students to develop the following skills:

The students are given special training on LSRW or Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing. The aim of this skill development program is to enable students to develop their life skills and myriad ways to express themselves.

Pedagogical Strategies to Teach LSRW Skills

Listening skills may be developed through working on the following:

  • Listening for general content
  • Listening to fill up information
  • Intensive listening
  • Listening for specific information

Speaking skills may be developed through working on the following:

  • Understanding paralinguistic (voice, quality, volume, pace, voice modulation, articulation, pronunciation, etc.) attributes
  • Oral practice

Reading skills may be developed through working on the following:

  • Skimming the text
  • Reading and understanding of textual materials
  • Recognizing unity, coherence and emphasis of sentences and paragraphs

Writing skills may be developed through working on the following:

  • Writing sentences
  • Techniques of creative and critical writing
  • Use of appropriate vocabulary
  • Paragraph, essay, and précis writing
  • Coherence and cohesiveness
  • Narration / description
  • Note Making
